Just got finished moving my billion websites to the new server! It's got twice the specs and is HALF the price of the old one! Thanks Godaddy!

Over the last week I have playing with Wordpress and all I can say is WOW! I now have about 5 sites running it and it took me less than 30 minutes to set each one up. The guys at Boonex REALLY need to take notes from Wordpress. Here are some of the things I found: 1. The install is only a few clicks 2. There are a zillion templates and unlike Dolphin some of them are so unique you can't even tell it's a wordpress site! 3. There are a zillion mods (WP calls them plugins) and unlike Dolphin they are FREE! 4. Unlike Dolphin EVERY THING WORKS! I haven't fooled with "Buddypress" yet but I have a feeling it puts Dolphin to shame. Thats all for today... more info when I have it.

Well for anyone who wasn't aware one of the cooler features of this site was I had an Elgg and PHPizibi site running inline with the main site. So you could join one and be a member of all 3. Then you could test drive each one and see which you prefered. Well due to me being short on time I didn't have time to keep everything updated and in the last two weeks spammers were having a field day on the Elgg and PHPizabi sites. I have turned the main site into a fortress but I don't have the time (or desire) to fool with the other ones too. So I just deleted them. I can't imagine sitting in an stinky office in India and just ruining peoples sites all day... but that is exactly what they do. There are days where I'll be sitting at the computer when they join and I'll delete them. They will join 3 or 4 times and get deleted before they give up. Over and over and over... and I just keep deleting them.

Well Google just started their quarterly PR update and Make A Social Network went from 2/10 to 3/10.. that really isn't bad at all for a site that is this new! Thanks for everyone who has linked to me!

Well "Make A Social Network" is on its new server... what a HEADACHE!! I ran into EVERY problem I have ever read about on the forums. Todays adventures included:

 

1. Recompiling PHP with Mbstring included.

2. Recompiling PHP AGAIN with the GD Image Library included.

3. Re-FTPing files several times because SmartFTP AND Filezilla BOTH suck!

 

Wheeew.. it hasn't been a good day for Mscott. That being said PLEASE email me if you find any OTHER errors, haha.

Well it took me a few weeks but I finally have phpBB3 and Dolphin 6.1.2 fully integrated... well actually I ALSO have phpBB3 and Dolphin 6.0.0004 integrated too! The package I have for sale is the full version of Dolphin 6.1.2 with phpBB3 completely integrated with the Dolphin install. Then when I was done I thought I might as well add it here too. My site (the one you're on now) has become a hybrid of 6.0.0004 and 6.1.2... the blogs and articles are both from 6.1.2.

 

Now THAT was a project! If you ever want to have fun (joking!) just try to add a feature from a newer version of any software into an older version
